Glasgow City Guide 2026 is the definitive digital companion to Scotland’s cultural powerhouse, connecting international sports fans, festivalgoers, and locals with the living heartbeat of the city.

Powered by our Trailify platform, the app gives destination teams an agile, high-performance product with the flexibility to manage event hubs, cultural trails, and neighborhood stories directly in-house, ensuring Glasgow welcomes global audiences with authentic local insight.

As Glasgow prepared to welcome the world back for the 2026 Commonwealth Games—twelve years on from the celebrated 2014 edition—the city needed a modern digital companion that could rise to the occasion. With hundreds of thousands of spectators, athletes, and cultural visitors moving across the compact Games corridor from Scotstoun and the Scottish Event Campus on the Clyde to Tollcross and the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in the East End, the brief called for an intuitive guide that would steer visitors beyond predictable tourist itineraries and deep into the authentic life of Glasgow’s distinct neighbourhoods.

The app features an extensive collection of curated walking trails that weave through the city's striking architectural landscape, from the pioneering masterworks of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and grand Victorian sandstone facades to vibrant street art murals and riverside wharves. Visitors can explore an interactive historical timeline charting Glasgow's evolution from pre-history to industrial shipbuilding titan and UNESCO City of Music, complemented by handpicked recommendations for independent dining across Finnieston, bohemian cafes in the West End, and legendary music haunts around the city centre. Alongside major cultural institutions like Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and the Riverside Museum, the guide highlights leafy green sanctuaries including the Botanic Gardens and Glasgow Green.

Built upon our Trailify platform, the guide delivers seamless GPS navigation, rich visual archives, and full offline mapping to ensure reliable urban exploration even in high-density event crowds without roaming barriers. Behind the scenes, the Trailify content management engine gave destination teams the operational agility to adapt festival sites, highlight pop-up fan zones, and update cultural fringe events in real time, leaving Glasgow with a lasting, self-sustaining digital asset that continues to celebrate the city long after the final medal has been awarded.
