Through the Smarter Choices Smarter Places funding programme, Argyll and Bute Council have commissioned the creation of an exciting new active travel guide for Islay: the Discover Islay Active Travel App.
The app features eight self-guided walking and cycling trails, each with a route synopsis, map, and detailed description to help you decide which trails suit your preferences and abilities. Along the way, uncover points of interest and immerse yourself in the island’s rich heritage and natural beauty.
For families, the app includes engaging Eye Spy challenges around Port Ellen, where you can earn points for completing tasks and track your achievements in the app. Aim to score over 80% and claim victory in the explorer challenge!
With detailed trail maps, fun activities, and links to local visitor information, the Discover Islay Active Travel App is your perfect companion for exploring one of Scotland’s most breathtaking destinations.
